Every business owner starts out posting their own content, that's normal. The question isn't whether you're capable of it, it's whether it's still the best use of your time and whether it's actually working. Here are five signs it's time to hand it off.

1. Your posting has become inconsistent

A page that posted three times a week in January and hasn't posted since March signals something to potential customers, that the business isn't consistently active. Inconsistent posting often does more damage than not having a page at all.

2. You can't say whether it's bringing in business

If someone asked you right now how many enquiries came from Instagram last month, could you answer? If not, you're not managing a channel, you're just occupying it.

3. Your content doesn't reflect the quality of your actual business

A well-run business with phone-camera graphics and inconsistent branding creates a mismatch, customers judge what they see online, even when it undersells what you actually do.

4. It's eating time that should go toward running your business

Writing captions and designing posts at 11pm because there wasn't time earlier is a sign the task has outgrown a side activity, not a reason to feel behind.

5. You have no actual plan, just reactions

Posting only when you remember, with no calendar or theme, means every post is starting from zero. A planned content calendar compounds over time; reactive posting doesn't.

What changes once you hand it off

Usually the first visible change is consistency, posts go out on schedule instead of when someone remembers. From there, the content starts building toward a specific goal instead of existing in isolation.
